/// A look back, the beginning of something new, the wake up call I never realized was right in front of me

First up, Violent Season. These guys are what took my interest in trying to make it out to this show. I’ve been following them for some time on their social media and had a few minor interactions throughout that time. When I saw a show announcement I was pretty stoked to see something like this. It’s been a long while for me to make it out to any local shows. I quickly checked out the other bands and found myself completely blown away. There’s been a whole scene brewing ready to boil over again and to be honest, it’s just never really gone anywhere in the fact that it’s always been there. It was a mix of being mad at myself for being so disconnected and that want to jump right into it all. All of these bands are incredible, with their own flavor of sounds and full on energy.
Something that I wasn’t planning on? Bringing my camera out. It was a last minute decision. While I’ve photographed different areas of music projects before, it was always more of a personal thing to not mix the fun and love of the music world with trying to push my photography. For some reason, this show, this decision to bring my camera - it changed everything for me. I haven’t stopped since. I think that it found me and I found this way of doing things right when I needed it. Uncovering the world of the local scenes for myself once again and feeling all the beauty in the world again.
